The minimum investment to open any InvestEngine account is £100. Once you’ve put at least £100 into your InvestEngine account, you can add further one-off amounts or set up regular investing by variable recurring payment (VRP), standing order or direct debit.
While you can maintain a portfolio value less than £100, we highly recommend keeping £100 on your balance in order to avoid potential rounding issues that may arise due to trades and holdings below £1.
The minimum top-up by instant bank transfers, manual bank transfers or standing orders is just £0.01. There is a £20 minimum for variable recurring payments and a £50 minimum for direct debits.
You can invest as much as you want in a General Account.
Please note, that while our clients are welcome to have any amount of funds in their DIY portfolios, we highly recommend investing a minimum of £100. By doing so, you can avoid potential rounding issues that may arise due to trades and holdings below £1.
You can only invest a maximum of £20,000 per tax year in an InvestEngine Stocks and Shares ISA but there is no limit on previous tax year ISA transfers.
Also note: starting 06/04/2024, you are able to open multiple Stocks and Shares ISAs with different providers due to changes in ISA regulations. If you have multiple ISAs with different providers, it is your responsibility to make sure that you do not exceed the overall £20,000 allowance.
