What we call the Universe, is an InvestEngine powerful reference tool for investors to learn more about our ETF Range and give you the opportunity to add securities to your DIY Portfolio.
You can access it by following the '+Add Securities' button in your DIY Portfolio.
The Universe takes the form of a smart search engine that will respond to ETF names, tickers and even keywords. You can search by market (e.g. US, Developed World, etc), sector (e.g. Technology, Manufacturing, etc), type (e.g Screened, Alligened, Filtered, etc) or issuer (e.g. IShares, Vanguard, etc). The search engine will offer the ETFs that meet those criteria.
You can even search by individual stock (e.g. Apple, Samsung, etc) and the Universe will identify the ETFs that contain that stock in their composition.
Additionally, filters will further help you in your research.
Asset class - does the fund predominantly hold Equities, Alternatives or Bonds.
Acc / Dist - Accumulating or Distributing - whether the dividends are reinvested or paid out, respectively.
Hedged £ - whether the fund is protected from currency movements on overseas assets.
ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance - whether the security abides by a set of socially conscious criteria.
Opening an ETF in the Universe will load a graph of its performance, the previous business day’s close price, all the stocks in the holding, as well as useful documentation, such as Investor Key Information and the Factsheet.
Please note that the information on the Universe is updated automatically every time an issuer feeds us updates on the ETFs that we offer. The frequency of those updates depends on the issuer's policy and in some cases, the information on the Universe can be less up-to-date than on the issuer's website.
