Yes, you can move money between some of your portfolios, but there are rules depending on the account type.
✅ You can:
- Move money from a General Investment Account (GIA) to an ISA (this is called a Bed & ISA)
- Move money between two GIAs
- Move money between two ISAs (as long as they’re both with InvestEngine and for the same tax year)
❌ You can’t:
- Move money from an ISA to a GIA or SIPP
- Move money from a SIPP to another account
- Move money between personal and business accounts
- Move money between different customers
How do I move money between portfolios?
To move money between your own portfolios:
- Sell investments in the portfolio you want to move money from
- Wait for the sale to settle (T+2 – two working days)
- The money will appear in your cash wallet
- Then, top up the other portfolio from your cash wallet
Can I move cash between portfolios?
Yes, if you have money in your cash wallet, you can use it to top up another eligible portfolio straight away.
