You can withdraw money from your InvestEngine portfolio at any time- but how quickly you receive it depends on whether the funds are already in cash or need to be sold from investments first.
1. Withdrawing Available (Uninvested) Cash
If you already have uninvested cash in your portfolio:
- You can request a withdrawal straight away.
- We usually send the money to your bank account within 1–2 business days.
To withdraw:
Go to your Portfolio > Options > Withdraw Cash
2. Withdrawing by Selling Investments
If you don’t have enough cash, you can sell some or all of your investments to fund a withdrawal.
Here’s how it works:
- You place a sell order in your DIY portfolio.
- The sale is executed during the next trading window (typically the same day if placed before 2:00 pm).
- Once sold, the money enters a T+2 settlement period (two business days).
- After settlement, the cash will appear in your portfolio as available to withdraw.
You’ll then receive the funds 1–2 business days after requesting the withdrawal.

Important Notes
- You can’t withdraw money that’s tied up in unsettled sell orders.
- You can reinvest up to 95% of a sell order's value immediately, even before settlement.
- During bank holidays or weekends, withdrawals and settlements may take longer.
