As an FCA authorised and regulated investment manager, we are required to assess whether our investment portfolios are suitable for risk tolerance, as dictated by your objectives, ability to sustain losses, investment knowledge and experience. Our Investment Questionnaire seeks to gauge these factors so as to limit the risk you will be exposed to, to a suitable level.
For example, if your tolerance to risk is high, all 10 Growth portfolios may be available to you. If your tolerance to risk is low, our portfolio slider might grey out the higher risk portfolios, not allowing you to select them.
This “greying out” is normal and is a result of our Investor Questionnaire assessing that these portfolios expose you to a higher risk level that you may be comfortable with and are unsuitable, based on your answers.
Can I select unavailable portfolios?
If on completing the Investor Questionnaire the portfolio slider greyed out higher risk portfolios, it is likely that we have assessed you as having a lower risk appetite on our risk scale. These greyed out portfolios have been assessed as “unsuitable” for you by our questionnaire’s algorithm.
We are unable to manually change your risk profile, or change your investments to an unsuitable portfolio.
I think my Questionnaire answers were wrong?
You may, if you believe that you have answered the Investor Questionnaire incorrectly or your circumstances have changed, retake the questionnaire so that it more accurately reflects your current situation.
You can retake the questionnaire in your online account of InvestEngine by going to the:
'Settings'->'Portfolios' > choosing the portfolio which you would like to amend > click 'Retake' button under the questionnaire results.
To avoid unsuitable portfolios, which may result in exposure to higher than suitable risk, switching costs or other detriments, please ensure that you complete the Investor Questionnaire as accurately as possible.
