There are a few reasons why you might not be able to cancel your order:
1. The trading window has already started
Orders can only be cancelled before 2:00 pm or after 7:00 pm on business days.
This is because the trading window runs between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, with trading starting from around 2:30 pm.
If you're trying to cancel during this time, the option won't be available - the orders are already being processed.
2. You’re trying to cancel an individual order
At the moment, you can only cancel all orders within a portfolio, not individual ones.
To cancel:
- Log in to your InvestEngine account
- Select the portfolio where the order was placed
- At the top of the portfolio, find the blue ‘Orders placed’ banner (in dark mode, it may appear less bright)
- Tap ‘Orders placed’, then choose ‘Cancel these orders’
If you don’t see this option, it means:
- The trading window is currently open, or
- There are no active orders to cancel.
3. The order has already been cancelled or traded
Once your order has been cancelled or fully executed, it can’t be undone.
What happens to my money after cancelling?
Any funds from cancelled orders will remain as uninvested cash within the portfolio.
This means your cancelled funds won’t disappear; they’ll stay in your account, ready for you to reinvest or withdraw.
