Once you’ve placed an order to invest in a DIY portfolio, you can make changes, but only if it’s before the trading cut-off time.
Can I change my order after I submit it?
Yes - but only before 2:00 pm on a business day.
- Orders are processed during the daily trading window, which runs from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
- After 2:00 pm, your order is locked in and can’t be changed or cancelled.
How to make a change
If you want to change your investment:
- Cancel your order (before 2:00 pm)
- Place a new order with the updated details
You can cancel an order by:
- Logging into your account
- Selecting the portfolio where you placed the order
- Clicking on the blue ‘Orders placed’ banner at the top
- Selecting ‘Cancel these orders’
Note: If you’re using dark mode, the banner may appear less bright.
You can only cancel all orders in the portfolio, not individual ones.
After 2:00 pm or during the trading window
If it’s already after 2:00 pm, your order is being processed and can’t be changed. You’ll need to wait until the trade completes, and then place a new trade with any adjustments you want.
What happens to my money if I cancel?
Any money from a cancelled order will stay as uninvested cash in your portfolio. You can reinvest it whenever you’re ready.
