If you have a pension with Scottish Widows, you may be able to transfer it to an InvestEngine SIPP.
Step 1: Find your Scottish Widows pension details
To start a transfer, you’ll need your plan number.
You can find this by:
- Logging in to your Scottish Widows online account
- Checking pension statements or annual reviews
- Looking for emails or letters from Scottish Widows
- Contacting their support team with your National Insurance number
You may hold more than one plan with Scottish Widows, so make sure you select the correct one.
Step 2: Open an InvestEngine SIPP and start the transfer
- Log in to InvestEngine
- Select Transfer a pension
- Choose Scottish Widows
- Enter your plan number and details
InvestEngine will then contact Scottish Widows on your behalf.
Step 3: Transfer process
- Most transfers are completed as cash
- Your investments will usually be sold before transfer
Step 4: Timescales
- Cash: 2–4 weeks
- In-specie: 4–6 weeks

- Exit fees on older pensions
- Any guaranteed benefits you may hold with your existing pension account
- You may not be able to transfer a workplace pension still receiving contributions
